Introduction

My name is Sean Lowe and I am planning to travel abroad on a foreign exchange program in 2010. My goal is to gain a better understanding of the Latin culture and to become fluent in a second language. When I return I plan to actively advocate for the integration of the Latin culture with the American culture.

I am in need of assistance to fund this endeavor because the cost is extremely high, and my parents are not financially capable of funding the entire trip. So far I have started to spread the word to friends and family. I also have some personal funds set aside, and I have also created this blog to assist me with this fundraising effort. To the left there is a box that indicates my progress so far. Please contribute by clicking on the "Chip-in" icon. For your generosity I will personally post you regular updates on my progress.

I plan to have bake sales and car washes. I also plan to use my birthday donatations toward this effort. I am going to prepare a letter to give to my family members to take to their employers. I will also prepare a letter to take to large corporations, such as Wal-Mart, informing them of my cause and encouraging them to donate also. If it comes down to it I will even completly shave my head.
